The Director General of the Mogadishu Port Authority, H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo), accompanied by senior port officials, conducted an inspection tour of various sections of Mogadishu Port to assess ongoing development and modernization projects underway at the country’s primary maritime gateway.
The inspection focused on reviewing progress made in expanding port infrastructure and improving operational efficiency, as part of broader efforts to strengthen the Port’s capacity to meet growing national and regional trade demands. The Director General received briefings from technical teams on current works, implementation timelines, and areas requiring further enhancement.
During the visit, H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo) also toured several vessels that had recently docked at Mogadishu Port, carrying essential goods including construction materials and fuel. These shipments underscore the Port’s critical role in supporting Somalia’s economic activity, reconstruction efforts, and energy supply.
In his concluding remarks, the Director General reaffirmed his strong commitment to the Port’s continuous development and modernization. He emphasized his vision of positioning Mogadishu Port as one of the most advanced, efficient, and competitive ports in Africa, capable of supporting sustainable economic growth and regional trade integration.
The inspection reflects the Mogadishu Port Authority’s ongoing focus on infrastructure development, operational excellence, and strategic leadership to ensure the Port continues to serve as a reliable and modern gateway for Somalia.
