In a clear demonstration of commitment and leadership, the Director General of the Mogadishu Port Authority, H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo), traveled to Nairobi, Kenya, to personally support the Mogadishu Port Football Club during their Confederation of African Football (CAF) match.
Fulfilling the pledge he made to the players and management, the Director General was present at Nyayo National Stadium, where he encouraged the team as they achieved a memorable 1–0 victory against Al Zamala Sports Club of Sudan. His presence served as a strong morale boost for the players, reinforcing the message that institutional leadership stands firmly behind them.
On the occasion, H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo) expressed his sincere appreciation to the Somali community in Nairobi, whose large turnout and enthusiastic support filled the stadium with national pride. He acknowledged that the solidarity shown by the Somali diaspora played an important role in motivating the team and strengthening their performance on the field.
The event highlighted the deep connection between Somali communities abroad and national institutions, as well as the unifying power of sport in bringing people together. It also reflected the Mogadishu Port Authority’s broader commitment to youth development, social engagement, and honoring commitments beyond its core operational mandate.
