The Director General of the Mogadishu Port Authority, H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo), was received by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, for a high-level briefing on the Port’s ongoing activities and recent achievements.
During the meeting, the Director General provided an overview of key developments at Mogadishu Port, highlighting significant progress achieved during his tenure. He outlined strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing port operations, improving efficiency, and positioning Mogadishu Port among the most advanced and high-quality ports on the African continent.
The Director General emphasized reforms focused on operational excellence, infrastructure development, and service delivery, underscoring the Port’s growing role as a critical driver of national economic growth and regional trade.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the Director General and the entire Port workforce for their remarkable achievements, noting that Mogadishu Port has reached historic milestones within a short period. He highlighted the Port’s emerging reputation as one of Africa’s most productive and efficient ports, recognizing its contribution to Somalia’s economic recovery and maritime development.
The meeting reaffirmed the Federal Government’s strong support for the continued modernization of Mogadishu Port and its strategic importance as a national asset and gateway for international trade.
