The Director General of the Mogadishu Port Authority, H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo), received a senior delegation from Banadir University, led by Dr. Osman Mahmoud Dufle and the University President, Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Hassan, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic partnerships and capacity building.
During the meeting, the University leadership expressed their appreciation to the Director General for his continued support of capacity-building training programs conducted at Mogadishu Port. In recognition of his contribution to education, skills development, and youth empowerment, the delegation presented H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo) with an appreciation award.
The discussions also focused on expanding collaboration between the Mogadishu Port Authority and Banadir University. The University leadership pledged to provide free professional development programs for port staff, aimed at enhancing technical expertise, management skills, and operational efficiency within the maritime sector.
In his remarks, the Director General reaffirmed his strong commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships with academic institutions and advancing technical and professional skills across the port and maritime workforce. He emphasized that investment in human capital is essential to sustaining operational excellence and supporting the long-term development of Somalia’s ports.
The engagement reflects the Mogadishu Port Authority’s dedication to fostering knowledge-sharing partnerships and building a skilled workforce capable of supporting modern, efficient, and globally competitive port operations.
